THE REASON OF THE CROSS

In celebration of the Lenten Season, I wanted to make this blog to remind ourselves what is the very reason we celebrate it.

This is not your typical celebration because we are all staying in our homes due to the pandemic of the COVID-19 which literally crippled everything around us.

This month we usually have a parade of people reenacting the SUFFERING AND DEATH of Christ and there as well your typical “PABASA” and the STATIONS OF THE CROSS.

And I come to realised that there are many devoted people who will really “DO IT AGAIN” to feel what Christ have to ENDURE.

(I AM NOT HERE TO OFFEND BUT I’M HERE TO SHED SOME LIGHT AND TRUTH OF THE MATTER :D)

Honestly, we really don’t need to do that.

Jesus Christ was the PERFECT SACRIFICE FOR ALL. Just want to give you a little bit of historical background on the OLD TESTAMENT ON HOW THEY SACRIFICE FOR GOD TO FORGIVE THEIR SINS.

There will be “HANDPICKED” people or we call them HIGH PRIEST who can enter the PRESENCE OF GOD called the HOLY OF HOLIES if we put that right now in our time even I cannot enter it because i will surely die because I AM A SINNER. (Leviticus 16:2)

For the sacrifice, you need an animal that is without blemish or defect  but if it does have one it will not be accepted

“If he brings a lamb as his offering for a sin offering, he shall bring a female without blemish and lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering. Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering and pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar. . . . And the priest shall make atonement for him for the sin which he has committed, and he shall be forgiven. (Leviticus 4:32—35)

I wanted to point out the word SINNER.

We are human beings that are always proned to sin, I know after all we do the “TRADITIONAL” work that we do during this Lenten Season. We will feel good and saying that IM A GOOD PERSON.

In reality you will still go back to your OLD way of life, because it is not what you do that SAVES YOU BUT IT’S ABOUT WHAT HE DID FOR YOU.

Jesus was nailed on the cross ONCE AND FOR ALL. We don’t need to brag about our works but let’s brag how he can change you.

The Cross is not a symbol that we wear on our necks but it represented the suffering, anguish, agony that Jesus had to go through.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, he was with his disciples

Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” 37 And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” 39 And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

Matthew 26: 36-39 (ESV)

The first time heaven was silent, he took the wrath of God for us. but it was the joy that set before Him that he endured the cross!

Friends, the reason for this Lenten Season its not just about celebrating it with your own family, or watching TV shows that will remind us of  what he did but it’s about the LOVE that HE SHOWED FOR US.

The perfect example of LOVE.

Remember, you don’t need to work for God to accept you because He carried  the cross and at the same time thinking of you.

JESUS LOVES YOU!

PAUSE IN A CHAOTIC TIME.

" 2020? What have you done to me? Why do I need to witness this? I remembered January 1 of 2020 that this is going to be MY YEAR. Alot of us need  a fresh start but what is happening now I think I wanted it to end. " from a typical citizen of this earth

Sad to say that the beginning of the year was not really the ones we expect, I know alot of us are expecting to start on the right track or hoping this year your business will be EXPANDING and looking forward to get married for some.

And then reality hits us hard,  The news was on their usual routine of giving the dose of "BAD NEWS" their are good news as well. But what we saw was literally "HEARTBREAKING"

It was the WORST.
Let me give you some of the things that happened at the start of 2020:
  • US killing of Iran's Soleimani. ...
  • Downing of Ukrainian plane. ...
  • Trump impeachment inquiry. ...
  • Putin's political shake-up. ...
  • Coronavirus outbreak. ...
  • Philippines volcano eruption. ...
  • Turkey earthquake.
  • Kobe Bryant's tragic death
Alot of tragic events that is happening and to think that we are still in the three months of 2020.

I know at this time we are trying to find PEACE, because everything around us is CHAOTIC.
Especially, the CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) just wanted to highlight this because this what has stopped us on our tracks.

But inspite of everything that is happening around us, HOW SHOULD WE RESPOND?  Should we drown ourselves in misery? or should we curse God? Do we need to care or not?

THE BEST RESPONSE IS TO SIMPLY PAUSE.

Pause means the TEMPORARY STOP OF ACTION.

Psalms 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

This was written by David he is the man after God's own heart, He wrote this Psalm to remind us to take HOPE in the Lord and to take comfort in God when things look very black and threatening.

I know that we are facing a CRISIS that we cannot control, and its a BAD START of the year but I want to tell you a reality that someone is in CONTROL.
Our timeline says that "we wanted to end it now, it's getting worst" but sometimes God doesn't work on our timeline because he wants to REVEAL OUR HEART, OUR RESPOND.

God is in CONTROL and SOVEREIGN.

So what is MAN'S RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS CHAOTIC TIME?

PAUSE, PRAY AND TRUST.
